Watchin the playoffs

I've never been much of a sports nut, but I definitely enjoy watching the NFL playoffs.  I don't have anything invested in a particular team.  Nothing about a particular player, either.  I never even played the game in organized league play.

But I really wish they'd make a new rule: it should be a penalty for players to signal a result before the officiators do.  It drives me crazy to watch players trying to signal first downs or incompletions.  It just looks so... schoolyard.  These guys collect million dollar paychecks -- they should be expected to have enough professionalism to wait for official results.

Anyway, that's my useless gripe for the NFL playoffs.  If pushing an opposing player is worth 15 yards, then trying to pretend you're a referee should be worth 5 yards.

1 - bah ... how about we penalize a free touchdown for celebration, or forfit the game for spitting on the field ...

If the NFL ... trash talking and showboating is part of the game

2 - I'm fine with celebrations and trash talk. But players IMPERSONATING OFFICIALS? Not working for me.

Like I said, useless gripe... it's not like it's going to change rules 'cause it's on this little blog. Emoticon
