How to make a presentation about data
One of the greatest presentations on a truly boring subject I've ever seen, by Hans Rosling of the Karolinksa Institute. Prof. Rosling was presenting at the TEDTalks, shattering myths about global dividing lines, while demonstrating some of the most compelling data visualization I've ever seen.
Seeing this kind of thing makes me wish I worked with large datasets, just because the visualization opportunities are so intriguing. It also shows a lot about animation as a method of visual communication.

That was very cool, I recall a similar animation/slide from a competitive pitch we did years ago in Lotus.
I layered the orginal MS "map", then the next years version etc..
Of course it was before the Workplace line of products.
Yes it would keep people more interested when shown this way.
But as you pointed out, you need lots of data to enjoy it.

I wonder if he is drooling over the possibilities with Many-Eyes ({ Link } Sometimes IBM research just knocks me out of my chair and ME is one of those times.
